Women’s Cricket Daily – 18 May 2026

Welcome to today’s women’s international cricket update featuring overnight results, today’s matches, breaking news and a look back through history.

News in brief

  • With the ODI series between England and New Zealand done and dusted, all things cricket turn to the T20 format. The two teams will play a three match T20 International series starting Wednesday in Derby (weather permitting). Both teams will likely see the return of players to bolster their squads, Sophie Devine for New Zealand and for England the return of injured skipper, Nat Sciver-Brunt. One would also expect to see Sophia Dunkley and Danni Wyatt-Hodge return for England.
  • No rest for Pakistan after their successful rout of Zimbabwe. They’re off to Ireland to participate in a T20 tri-series against Ireland and West Indies which gets underway later this month. That series will be an excellent tune-up for the three teams leading into the World Cup.
  • Another tri-series also taking place later this month in Edinburgh between Scotland, Bangladesh and the Netherlands. Again, a great opportunity for these teams to ready themselves for the World Cup.
  • Still a couple of squads to be announced for the World Cup. Squads named so far here.
  • An open letter from the former French team has been published to bring awareness to their plight following their disbandment due to allegations of corruption by Cricket France. You can read it here.
