Women’s Cricket Daily – 24 June 2026
Welcome to today’s women’s international cricket update featuring overnight results, today’s matches, breaking news and a look back through history.
News in brief
- Pakistan has pegged Australia back after what seemed like a 200+ score at one stage in their Pool A clash in the World Cup. They finished with 199/7 (so, nearly). That match continues.
- A win to New Zealand over Scotland in Pool B means the White Ferns are still in the hunt for the finals while Scotland’s campaign is over.
- Chamari Athapaththu. Good Lord! The Sri Lankan skipper scored 106 not out in a total of 134/1 chasing Ireland’s 130/5. The second century of the tournament so far and the highest score.
- That win by Sri Lanka keeps them in with a mathematical chance of making the finals although they do have the lowest run rate of any of the top four teams in Pool B.
- Player of the Tournament page heats up. Darcey Carter‘s 72* takes her to 174 runs, leading run scorer so far and that innings catapulted her to 199 points equal third place with Smriti Mandhana. Marizanne Kapp has a 4 point gap, sitting on top with 203. Sitting at the top, a new leader: Fatima Sana.
