Women’s Cricket Daily – 28 May 2026
Welcome to today’s women’s international cricket update featuring overnight results, today’s matches, breaking news and a look back through history.
News in brief
- A tsunami of cricket on the way on this 28th May.
- England and India play the first of three T20 Internationals later today in Chelmsford, giving two of the World Cup heavyweights a good look at each other before the big event.
- “These three matches will give us more clarity going ahead to the T20 World Cup because earlier – as Amanjot was there, Kashvee was there – we knew how things are going to be but now, new players in the side and hopefully we’ll try to give them as much opportunity so that they can be ready for the T20 World Cup,” India’s Harmanpreet Kaur told reporters.
- The Asia Games Qualifiers are in the final round before the finals commence tomorrow. Plenty is riding on the results of today’s games. The top teams in each group (Thailand, Nepal) are through. Everything else is on the line.
- To Dublin for the commencement of the tri-series between Ireland, West India and Pakistan. Again an excellent lead in to the World Cup for these three teams.
- …as it is in Edinburgh for the Scotland tri-series between Scotland, Netherlands and Bangladesh.
- Preview of the Netherlands and their hopes for the World Cup.
- Still two squads to name for the World Cup, with West Indies and Sri Lanka yet to announce, although the latter may have been waiting on the series between Sri Lanka A and New Zealand A to complete. Squads named so far.
