Women’s Cricket Daily – 27 May 2026
Welcome to today’s women’s international cricket update featuring overnight results, today’s matches, breaking news and a look back through history.
News in brief
- Victories for Thailand and China as the Asia Games Qualifiers got under way in KL yesterday. (Here’s a preview if you need to catch up on who’s playing.)
- Thailand came out all guns blazing yesterday against Hong Kong with an unbroken 157 run second wicket stand between Natthakan Chantham (98*) and Nannapat Koncharoenkai (51*). Thailand went on to win by 89 runs and lead Pool A.
- China caused an upset with their exciting 3 wicket win over Indonesia on the last ball of the match. Skipper Mingyue Zhu led the way with her bat but it was a wonderful team effort with the ball that allowed China to restrict Indonesia to such a low total. China lead Pool B.
- Heads up to supporters in the Asia/Pacific: the first T20 International between England and India is listed for Thursday but in that region it will be in the wee hours of Friday morning. (3.30AM Sydney, 5.30AM Wellington)
- Still two squads to name for the World Cup, with West Indies and Sri Lanka yet to announce, although the latter may have been waiting on the series between Sri Lanka A and New Zealand A to complete. Squads named so far.
