Selina Solman

Born on 8th February 1995, T20 International player of Vanuatu and dual international, Selina Solman.

A right-hand batter and right-arm medium pace bowler, Selina is a key allrounder for the national team and also for the Barmy Army in the FairBreak competition.

Vanuatu is where the heart is, representing the nation in both cricket and netball. She’s also the first female player from the Pacific nation to play grade cricket in Australia.

The first recorded match in which Selina played was in 2014 against Papua New Guinea. She took the prize wicket of Sibona Jimmy and top scored with 12 out of a team total of 43.

Bigger and better things would come with a T20 International debut in 2019 where the entire Vanuatu team played their first match since gaining T20 International status from the ICC in July 2018. It was at the East Asia Pacific World T20 Qualifiers at Port Vila and the first match was against PNG. Selena was the skipper that day and made a first ball duck. Not a great start but she followed that up by leading the team to victory against Fiji in the next match and scoring 21 not out along the way. A bigger scalp later in that same tournament defeating the fancied Indonesians.

Selena has played in all but one of the team’s T20 Internationals. In 48 matches, 655 runs with a high score of 52 not out against France at N’Du Stadium, Noumea in March 2025. With the ball, 52 wickets with a best of 5-9 against Cook Islands in January 2024.
