Mignon du Preez

Born on June 13th 1989 in Pretoria, former South Africa captain Mignon du Preez skippered the national team in Test, ODI and T20 matches from 2011 to 2016 and continued representing her country as a player until 2022.

She made her debut for South Africa in ODI matches in 2006/07 and T20 from 2007.

In 2014 she played her debut Test match as captain when her team toured India. The home team’s batting proved far too strong and despite scoring a century on debut, du Preez and her team lost by an innings. Mignon is second behind Laura Wolvaardt for the highest runs scored in ODIs by a South African woman, with 3760 runs at 32.98 average and a high score of 116*. She played in four World Cups from 2009 to 2022.

In 114 T20 Internationals Mignon scored 1804 runs with a high score of 69 and played in seven World Cups.
