Born on 25th June 1969 in Adelaide, South Australia is former Australian Test and ODI player Tunde Juhasz, a right-hand batter and wicket keeper.
Tunde made her First Class debut for South Australia in December 1985 at the age of sixteen. Batting at number four, she made 7 not out. It was a strong South Australian team led by Wendy Piltz, along with noted players Annette Fellows, Lee-Anne Hunter, Andrea McCauley and Lyn Fullston. Tunde made her List A (60 overs) debut for South Australia in December 1987 against Tasmania at Kaleen Oval in Canberra.
By 1990/91 Tunde is selected in the Australian Test team to play India in a three match series. Her debut came at North Sydney Oval, batting at number five, behind Belinda Clark, Belinda Haggett, Denise Annetts and Zoe Goss. Of those batters, only Goss (48) failed to score 50. The captain, Lyn Larsen declared shortly after Tunde came to the crease. In the second innings she was cleaned up by Sudha Shah for a duck. It would be the only time Tunde was dismissed in Test cricket. Tunde played all 3 Tests against the visiting Indian team, batted five times – not out four of those.
Tunde made her ODI debut that same summer on 90/91, against New Zealand. Once again batting behind the aforementioned foursome, opportunities to shine with the bat, if at all, for she did not bat in her debut, were rare. Her main role in that series was with the gloves and she finished with a top score of 21 with the bat.
