Women’s Cricket Daily – 1 June 2026

Welcome to today’s women’s international cricket update featuring overnight results, today’s matches, breaking news and a look back through history.

News in brief

  • A solid and ominous victory to Ireland over Pakistan in Dublin by 7 wickets in the Tri-Nations series. There appears to be a bit of a pattern forming here. The Asian teams and their well documented spin barrages are proving to be less effective in these European conditions. Case in point:
  • Bangladesh lost to the Netherlands overnight, the first time they have been defeated by that team. (scores below.) Two days earlier they went down to Scotland, again for the first time. Great signs for the Euro teams heading into the World Cup, less so for the Asians.
  • The finals of the Asia Games Qualifiers have been completed. Thailand monstered Malaysia in the final, winning by 9 wickets while China won a bizarre rain affected 7 over match against Nepal. Thailand, Malaysia and China have all qualified for the Asia Games later this year.
  • Action continues in Ireland tonight in the Tri-Nations series. The home team takes on West Indies who have yet to record a loss in this series.
  • Australia and South Africa are playing three unofficial practice matches – no scores available as yet.
  • With the announcement of the Sri Lankan squad, all teams have been named for the World Cup. World Cup Squads.
  • Preview of the Netherlands and their hopes for the World Cup.
  • Suzie Bates ONZM: Suzie Bates has been named an Officer of the New Zealand Order of Merit in today’s King’s Birthday Honours List.
