Women’s Cricket Daily – 14 May 2026
Welcome to today’s women’s international cricket update featuring overnight results, today’s matches, breaking news and a look back through history.
News in brief
- The second ODI between England and New Zealand was abandoned due to rain. There wasn’t even enough clear weather for a coin toss. The home side leads the series 1-0. The third match gets underway this Saturday (16th) at Cardiff.
- Zimbabwe will be looking for an improved performance when they take on Pakistan in the second T20 International later today in Karachi. The first match saw records tumble for Pakistan, scoring their highest T20 International total, their biggest winning margin and the highest individual score for Ayesha Zafar. The Lady Chevrons will be looking to break their own records today.
- Australia’s much awaited World Cup Squad has been announced. Captain Sophie Molineux returns from injury. The only glaring omission is fast bowler Darcie Brown, but in a team stacked with right-arm fast bowlers, the inclusion of left-armer Lucy Hamilton gives the team extra variety. The difficulty for Australia will be finding the right bowling mix, both pace and spin.
