Born on 1st September 1989 in Barbados, is current ODI and T20 International player for West Indies, Shakera Selman.
Shakera is a right-arm fast medium bowler and has been at the top of her game since her debut for West Indies in 2008. She has played in 166 international matches across both white ball formats.
On 24th June 2008 Shakera made her ODI debut against Ireland in Dublin and took the wickets of Isobel Joyce and Clare Shillington to record 2-19. Three days later she made her T20 International debut against the same team.
To date Shakera has played in over 80 One Day Internationals. Her easy run to the wicket and fluent action ensures that she will play many more. She has taken 66 wickets at 25.81 with a best of 5-15 against New Zealand at Warner Park, Basseterre, St Kitts in September 2014. Scalps on that day included Sophie Devine, Amy Satterthwaite, Katie Perkins and Sara McGlashan. World Cup appearances in 2009, 2013 and 2017.
In 87 T20 Internationals Shakera has taken 48 wickets at 26.87 with a best of 3-23.
