Qanita Jalil

Born on 21st March 1978 in Abbottabad, former opening bowler in ODI and T20 Internationals for Pakistan, Qanita Jalil was also handy with the bat.

Jalil made her debut for Pakistan in December 2005 and has since then played in 66 ODIs for Pakistan which includes appearances at the 2009 and 2013 World Cups. Despite her primary role being a bowler, Jalil opened the batting on a number of occasions and scored a half century (53) against West Indies in 2011.

With ball in hand Jalil took 50 wickets in ODIs for Pakistan with a best of 5-62 against India at Jaipur in December 2006.

Jalil’s T20 International debut came in 2009 against Ireland in Dublin. With World Cup appearances in 2009, 2010, 2012 and 2014, she played in 22 T20I’s taking 22 wickets at 29.59.
