Mabel Corby

Born on October 25th 1913, in Wanganui, former Test player for New Zealand Mabel Corby is only the second player to be out hit wicket in women’s Tests.

Mabel’s one and only Test was against the visiting England team in 1934/45, the very first Test match played by New Zealand’s women’s team. In the first innings she was out hit wicket to Mary Taylor for 1 and in the second was runout for 12.
