Born on October 1st 1990 in Khulna, Bangladesh, current ODI and T20 International player for Bangladesh, Salma Khatun.
It is hard to think of Bangladesh cricket without the name of Salma Khatun. One of the leading off-break bowlers in the world and also one of the most cunning. She is a feature with the ball during the powerplay.
Salma made her ODI debut, cap number seven for Bangladesh, as captain in November 2011 against Ireland where she led the team to a 92 run victory. Since that match a total of 44 ODI games with 491 runs and a high score of 75 not out. Best bowling of 3-6.
Wearing cap number eight, Salma made her T20 International debut, again as captain, against Ireland in 2012.
In 2018 she led the team to an historic victory over India in the Women’s Twenty20 Asia Cup held in Malaysia. She also led the team through the qualifiers to take a place in the World Cup in Australia in 2020.
