Women’s Cricket Daily – 26 May 2026
Welcome to today’s women’s international cricket update featuring overnight results, today’s matches, breaking news and a look back through history.
News in brief
- England clinch the T20 series 2-1 after a thumping victory over new Zealand, who were bowled out for just 80 runs in the third match.
- What must be of concern for the New Zealand camp is that team’s ability to play spin, especially at the top of the order. Six of the Kiwi wickets fell to spin, including both openers. They will want to have a good think about that before they play England in their Pool B match in the World Cup on 27th June.
- A good hit out for India against an England Development XI as they look to Thursday for the start of a three match T20 International series against England. Runs to Shafali Verma (50), Bharti Fulmali (48) and Yastika Bhatia (47); and wickets for Arundhati Reddy (3-29).
- Australia sign head coach Shelley Nitschke for another three years.
- All eyes on Bayuemas Oval in Kuala Lumpur today for the start of the Asia Games Qualifiers. For real… looks like Qatar, originally due to participate, has pulled out.
- Still two squads to name for the World Cup, with West Indies and Sri Lanka yet to announce, although the latter may have been waiting on the series between Sri Lanka A and New Zealand A to complete. Squads named so far.
