News in brief
- The Muneeba Ali led Pakistan won the final ODI against Zimbabwe to take the series 3-0. (Both Fatima Sana and Sidra Amin were rested.)
- Pakistan openers Gull Feroza and Sadaf Shamas have dominated the series, scoring three of the highest opening stands for Pakistan in ODIs. Their 220 run stand last night is the second highest. Earlier in the series they scored 189 and 162. Gull Feroza‘s 106* overnight is her second century of the series. She was named both Player of the Match and Player of the series.
- The New Zealand tour of England gets underway today with the first of three ODIs. The England camp has been hit with injuries to skipper Nat Sciver-Brunt and fast bowler Mahika Gaur. Charlotte Dean will lead England. No injury concerns reported for the White Ferns.
- “We’re in a great place as a group, we’ve got experience and we’ve got youth coming in and then we’ve got a really nice middle group who have been around long enough, played enough cricket, that also when the likes of Soph, Suzie and Lea are done, you’ve got those players that are also leaders within the group,” – NZ skipper Melie Kerr told Cricinfo.
