South Africa Win Third ODI to Keep Series Alive

The home team has leveled the series against West Indies with one more game to play. As it stands each team has won one each and the weather won the other.

It was a thumping win for South Africa after Sune Luus won the toss and chose to bat. On the back of a Laura Wolvaardt century (her third) SA posted a colossal 299/8 from their 50 overs. Shamilia Connell was the West Indies’ best bowler with 4-54, her best return in this format.

West Indies were never in the hunt after Ayabonga Khaka continued her excellent for in removing both openers, one of the in-form Deandra Dottin. Shabnim Ismail took 4-37 while the only resistance came from Kycia Knight who top scored with 69. South Africa winners by 96 runs.

Two injuries impacted West Indies. Chedean Nation was assisted from the field after falling heavily and was taken to hospital for further examination. Captain Stafanie Taylor sustained a ball to the helmet while batting and was replaced out of the game by Aaliyah Alleyne due to concussion.
