Series: T20 World Cup Qualifiers 2022
Venue: Tolerance Oval
Format: T20I
Toss: Ireland
Result: Ireland by 19 runs
Promised to be a good encounter between these two teams but it did come a little easier than expected for Ireland after amassing the highest total of the tournament, with 164/3, on the back of half centuries by Gaby Lewis and Orla Prendergast. An exquisite straight drive from Lewis the shot of the tournament so far.
Saskia Horley and Ailsa Lister began well for Scotland, but once Jane McGuire dismissed them both – the latter to a stunning catch at cover by Prendergast – it was an uphill battle from there. Regular wickets slowed the momentum and it was a pretty comfortable win for Ireland in the end, now bound for the semi finals.
